Disadvantages of Yoga

The practice of Yoga is far more complex than it appears and it cannot be indulged in at the highest level at once. This requires a stretch beyond limits to the body and mind therefore it should be started ideally with a trainer and one should gradually work their body towards the difficult Asanas from the basic ones. There are many people who ignore their physical and emotional capacity and end up doing serious damage to themselves.

 

. There are some therapists and people who have been in practice who disregard the art and label it as harmful for the body.

Some of the disadvantages of the exercise that have been discussed in the past are an ill effect on health and the vitals. These include physical symptoms which are mainly insomnia, congestion of energy resulting in weakening of the body, pain and discomfort, fever or over heating, skin rashes as well as depression.

Yoga can take a toll on the body and attempting the difficult postures of the spinal process especially have resulted in fractures as well as severe back ache and stiffening.

Yoga can also affect the emotions and thinking as well as behavioral patterns of people and some of its manifestations on the mood and mind include irritability and anger, relationship problems, criticalness and intolerance, pride as well as magnification of negative qualities.

People who have partners can also experience a serious change in their sexual appetite and they may result in an increased sex drive as well as an uncontrollable sex drive.

However these are not irreversible or avoidable and can be overcome with perseverance, guidance, support and practice.
